| History: | Established in 1974, the Clear Lake/White Pass Cross Country Camp is the oldest continuously running Cross Country Camp in the Northwest. The camp differentiates itself from other running camps by presenting a program designed to help all campers develop their skills, regardless of abilities or experiences. Since 1984 the camp has been based at White Pass Ski Resort and Condominiums. This site allows a training elevation between 4500-6000 feet. Every year over 420 runners from all over the Northwest, Alaska & California attend the camp. |

A 6 day residence camp for boys and girls ages 13 through High School at White Pass Resort; White Pass, Washington. Accommodations at the Village Inn Condominiums at White Pass. The comprehensive educational program includes lectures and group discussions on issues such as nutrition, injury prevention, race strategy, flexibility, cross training, college preparation, goal setting, leadership development, running in college, uphill & downhill running technique, workout planning and more. A Running Technique Analysis is conducted for each camper. Training and conversation with collegiate and other elite runners. Cross country relay activities, the Mountain Challenge run, and the end of camp Time Trial. The camp features a volleyball tournament, swimming, dances, movies and hiking. Make friends and meet other runners from around the Northwest. Team building games, medicine ball drills, plyometrics for runners, daily runs and workouts, and much more. Registration fee includes instruction, meals, lodging, official camp T-shirt, camp pin, instructional notebook, and a photo CD of camp activities. Meals are prepared at the White Pass Day Lodge. End of camp Awards Ceremony. |

The cost of the camp is $325.00. The amount may be paid in full or a $100.00 deposit will hold your place in camp with the balance due before June 15, 2008. All three sessions are expected to fill early. Last year over 100 people were turned away when all three sessions filled much earlier than expected. Get your registration in early to be assured a spot at camp. Return registration with deposit or full payment to:
Confirmation packets will be mailed prior to camp. They will include a packing list, directions, medical information form and schedule. If registering with teammates or friends, be sure to request the same camp dates. Registrations are non-transferable to other individuals. There will be a $50.00 fee charged for processing a cancellation prior to June 1. There will be no refunds after June 1. |

Phil English A native of Ireland, Phil has competed in the World Cross Country Championship and other international competitions. A Washington State University graduate, he has coached numerous boys and girls state champions. He is currently head coach at Eisenhower High School in Yakima. He has coached state championship teams at Carroll H.S. in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, and at Eisenhower in 1987, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2000. Phil was elected the 2001 National High School Girls' Cross Country Coach of the Year. |
